SG Borken e.V

The current sports club, Sportfreunde Borken, originated from a football interest group called Club-Borkener-Schalker-Freunde, founded on November 8, 1969.
Initially a pure football club, Sportfreunde Borken gradually evolved over the years into a multi-sport club. Today, the club offers football, recreational sports, cycling, bowling, and tennis.

The foundation of TuS Borken is essentially based on two roots. The first traces back to the youth football program of the Catholic Workers’ Association, which led to TuS through the sports clubs Westfalia and DJK, established in 1920. The second root originates from the “Verein für Bewegungsspiele” (VfB), through the Borken Football Club (BFC) and the Borken Football Association (BFV), eventually forming TuS Borken.

At an extraordinary general meeting on February 28, 2003, the members of Sportfreunde Borken voted by majority to merge with TuS Borken to form a single club, effective April 1, 2003.
